The 21st century is that of a fully urbanized society. From one pole to the other, the sphere of influence of capitalist industrial urbanism seems to cover the entire planet. Yet what about the poles themselves?

If urbanization is defined by the density of cities, Antarctica seems to remain beyond its reach. However, once we understand urbanization as a network of interdependent infrastructures, this same territory may no longer be so alien to the global urban ecosystem.

A territory that bears witness to the consequences of planetary urbanization, these icy lands have long remained unknown, fueling an imagination perpetually deferred by human conquest.

As a site of the sublime imagination, how does Antarctica integrate into urban society?
